The George Kiskatinaw Pool was discovered by Newport Petroleum in 1994. It has 221 BCF of reserves and is the second largest Pool discovery of the 1990's in the Alberta plains. The study is authored by one of the team members who made the discovery. The study is both a case history and technical review of all aspects of this important pool and is of equal benefit to geologists and geophysicists. It is an affordable look at all the details of the pool from the prospect idea to the discovery well and finally through the development phases.
The study contains a 16 km seismic line across the pool with a detailed interpretation to illustrate all the key geophysical criteria. There are also discussions of unique seismic processing and acquisition parameters developed for this play type.
